Chris Bosh is one of the rare cases in the NBA after a blood clot formed in his lower calf, which was the second time this serious condition occurred over the last two seasons. Bosh is looking to get medical clearance to play with the Heat in the playoffs, but multiple doctors have acknowledged that the condition is life threatening if he were to step onto the basketball court.
“The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh announce that Chris will not be playing in the remainder of the 2016 NBA Playoffs,” read the statement. “The Heat, Chris, the doctors and medical team have been working together throughout this process and will continue to do so to return Chris to playing basketball as soon as possible.”
