Van Persie and Depay Push Netherlands Past Australia [Netherlands vs. Australia Recap]

Day 7 got off to a great start with 5 goals scored in Netherlands vs Australia. A victory was predicted for the dutch, but it certainly did not come easy against the Aussies who played with incredible heart and passion. At one point Australia had a 2-1 lead after another dubious penalty decision, but they could not hold on as Van Persie and Depay fired home to win it for Netherlands.

The Turk of the game was awarded to Tim Cahill for his special volley in off the crossbar, a clear contender already for goal of the tournament. Jerk of the game unfortunately was handed to Australian defender Jason Davidson who played Van Persie onside for the dutch equalizer, schoolboy error from him.
