The Forbidden City and the Palace of Versailles once stood as the political, cultural, and artistic centres of China and France respectively. Under the leadership of enlightened rulers and facilitated by travelling French missionaries, the two countries embarked on extensive and impactful exchanges in the 17th and 18th centuries. Th e following exhibition sheds light on this chapter of history.
