Anderson Silva was gearing up to fight in front of his home country crowd at UFC 198, but an impromptu surgery was required to remove gallbladder just a few days before the fight. Silva announced that he would not be fighting in UFC 198 because of the surgery, but he also said that he wants to fight out his 15-fight contract that he signed in the beginning of 2015. The Spider was once the greatest UFC fighter the world has ever seen, but since he got knocked out by Chris Weidman, followed by breaking his leg in the rematch, Silva has yet to win a fight and return to his dominant status in the MMA.
"Silva, considered by many to be the greatest mixed martial artist in the sport's brief history, is 0-3 with a no contest in his last four outings. He dropped a decision to Michael Bisping in London on Feb. 27. He won his previous fight, against Nick Diaz, at UFC 183 on Jan. 31, 2015, but tested positive for several banned substances, including drostanalone, an anabolic steroid, following the bout."
