The World Cup has came to a climatic finish, a finish that was fitting as it was class that won the tournament. Mario Goetze's extra time goal ended Germany's 24 year wait for a world cup title, and what a goal it was to win it.

The first 90 remained goalless as Argentina continued to be assertive at the back as they have done most of the tournament. They were an example of how to defend, and they had a couple of chances to win it, Palacios attempt to lob Neuer came close.

But it took an inspired substitution and a beautiful pass from Schurlle who has had an immense tournament, to set up the man of the moment, Mario Goetze, who chested the ball in his path and first time volleyed home. There were tears of joy as the just winners lifted the trophy, and ended the drought.

Our turk goes to Goetze, to come in at that stage and take that goal as beautifully as he did, that merits a TURK any day.
