The New England Patriots are under investigation from the NFL for allegedly deflating footballs during the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. The legal limit for NFL regulated footballs is between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds of pressure. Midway through the AFC Championship Game, the referees took one of the Patriots footballs and weighed it, reporting to the NFL after the game. According to NFL rules, each team is responsible for bringing 12 footballs to use on offense, and each ball is weighed roughly two hours before game time.
“I think I’ve heard it all at this point,” quarterback Tom Brady said Monday morning, dismissing the concept on his weekly radio appearance on WEEI's "Dennis and Callahan Show." “That’s the last of my worries. I don’t even respond to stuff like this.”
