ONSTAGE K _ Boohwal(부활) & Backstage

The band Boohwal was born 30 years ago during the golden age of rock in Korea and won over both critics and music lovers with their sensual and lyrical rock ballads. They also made the genre rock approachable to a wider audience and rewrote the history of Korean music with a total of 13 full-length albums, all while producing many prominent vocalists. We call them the pride of Korean rock and they are the guests of this week's ONSTAGE K!
Boohwal debuted in 1986 with the album, "Rock Will Never Die." Ever since then, they led the heavy metal boom in the 80's but concentrated more on Korean-style melodic rock ballads, especially after their 3rd album. The band also produced many renowned vocalists, such as Lee Seung-chul, Kim Jae-ki, Park Wan-gyu, Jung Dan and Jung Dong-ha, and they are starting anew like a rookie this year with their 10th vocalist Kim Dong-myung.
한국에서 밴드로서 30년동안 꾸준히 활동을 하며 음반을 내는 일은 그리 쉬운 일이 아니다 그 만큼 한국에서 밴드로서 살아남기란 고행과도 같다고 한다. 크고 작은 풍파를 겪으면서도음악으로 소통하며 그 이름을 지켜온 밴드 부활! 밴드 음악이라고 하면 강렬하고 거친 남자의음악이라는 편견을 깨고 특유의 서정적인 가서와 멜로디로 80년도 소녀팬들을 몰고 다니며그 때나 지금이나 언제들어도 아름다운 록발라드들로 귀를 정화시키는 밴드 부활의 음악과데뷔 30년을 맞이한 그들의 이야기를 들어본다
밴드의 전신이었던 '디 엔드'에서 부활로 이름을 바꾸며 활동을 시작. 대한민국 100대 명반으로 선정되어 지금도 사랑받고 있는 첫 앨범 'Rock Will Never Die' 발표하며 '희야', '비와 당신의 이야기' 등을 히트시켰다. 보컬 이승철 탈퇴후 '사랑할수록' 한곡 만을 남긴 채 교통사고로 세상을 떠난 비운의 보컬 김재기, 이후 김재희, 박완규 이성욱 정단 정동하 등 걸출한 보컬리스트들이 부활을 거쳐갔다. 그리고 최근 10대 보컬리스트 김동명과 함께 부활의 30년 이후의 음악 인생을 다시 준비하고 있다
