Ray Rice Suspended ONLY 2 Games

The NFL dealt Ray Rice a meager 2 game suspension for his altercation with his fiance where video footage in a casino showed the Ravens All-Pro running back violently attacking her. In light of Josh Gordon appealing a season long suspension for smoking marijuana, it seems a bit unjust that Rice only has to sit 2 games on the bench for an act that was much more troublesome than being a Ricky Williams. In terms of other suspensions, Plaxico Burress, the ex-New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers receiver, was handed a 4 game suspension for shooting himself in the leg and unlawfully carrying a fire arm (granted, Burress served jail time lengthening his suspension). Players who get in trouble with the authorities normally see a 3 game suspension, so it simply does not add up that Rice is only sitting out 2 games for a much more morally wrong act.

Rice is one of five Baltimore Ravens who have ran into trouble with authorities over this summer.
