현대자동차 신화의 출발, 아산 정주영

한국 자동차 산업의 역사를 쓴 아산은 이런 말을 했습니다.
“꿈이 있으면 멈추지 않는다.”

1960년, 기술 황무지와 다름 없었던 한국.
자동차 산업 후발 주자인 한국에서 세계 5위 자동차 강국으로
도약하기까지 오직 하나의 꿈을 향해 멈추지 않고 달려온
아산 정주영 명예회장.

그는 1967년, 현대자동차주식회사를 설립한 이후
기술 자립과 독자 생산을 표명하고 우리 손, 우리 기술로
고유 자동차 모델 개발에 나섭니다.

그렇게 국내 최초 고유 모델 포니를 시작으로
국산 엔진 개발에 성공하는 등 현대차는 한국 자동차 산업 신화의 제 2막을 열었습니다.

1998년 IMF 위기 속에서 기아자동차 인수를 결정,
오늘날 현대기아자동차그룹이라는 글로벌 자동차 회사를
만들어 냈고 그는 현대차를 한국의 자동차에서 지구촌의 자동차로 만들었습니다.

"If there's a dream, we don't stop."

In 1960, Korea was no better an industrial wasteland.
Honorary chairman Asan Chung Ju-yung didn't stop for
once until he achieved the dream of making Korea step up
from latecomer to one of world's top 5 powerful countries in automobile industry.

In 1967, he announced technological self-reliance and independent production,
and pursued to develop an original car model with our own hand and technology
after establishing Hyundai Motor Company.

Then, the second phase of success in Korean automobile industry was started by
Hyundai Motor which made the first domestic model ‘Pony’ and developed domestic engines.

In 1998, during IMF crisis, he decided to take over KIA Motors and
Hyundai KIA Motor Group, global automobile company,
was built, making Hyundai Motor vehicles from Korean vehicles to global ones.

Honorary chairman Asan Chung Ju-yung drew the curtains
