The Ballon d’Or shortlist revealed Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar as the three finalists for the coveted best player in the world award. The award covers the calendar year of 2015 and many pundits were surprised to see Luis Suarez off the list. While the attacking three of Messi-Suarez-Neymar is one of the deadliest in football history, the Ballon d’Or voters feel that Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarkable season deserves attention as well. The list started off with 50 of the world’s best, but only one can win. The announcement will be made on January 11 in Zurich.
