The fight most boxing fans wanted to see occurred over the weekend as Canelo Alvarez improved to 45-1-1 and oh daaaaam that 45th win came by a bone chilling knockout that sent James Kirkland’s jaw into another dimension. The 24 year old Alvarez went toe-to-toe with James Kirkland for three straight rounds, leaving all of Minute Maid Park on their feet after two knockdowns and a flurry of uppercuts and strong right hands. Kirkland was knocked down twice before going out cold, the result of falling for Alvarez body shot that left his jaw WIDE open.
