The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors 112-97 at Oracle Arena on Monday, but Game 5 came with its own asterisk, as Draymond Green was forced to watch the game outside the arena given his suspension for accumulating too many flagrant foul points through the playoffs. Kyrie Irving and LeBron James took advantage of the impactful defensive Green, who’s importance shined as the Warriors had to play on without him. Irving and James combined for 82 points, while assisting to total 97, which matched the Warriors team totals. Klay Thompson dropped 37 points in the effort, but even a hot shooting backcourt was not enough to secure the Warriors the title in five games. Game 6 takes place in Cleveland on Thursday.
