Meet Beethoven with Piano:Episode 9: Zoie Tse / Anson Wong / Colleen Lee

Beethoven has had a profound impact on the world, earning him the title of "maestro of the classical music realm." By listening to his works, one can sense his unwavering determination and gain a positive outlook on life.

In this joint production by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Radio Television Hong Kong, 32 virtuoso pianists take you on a journey to meet Beethoven with piano.

In this episode, the following works have been selected for the audience's enjoyment:
- Piano Sonata No. 24 in F sharp, Op. 78, 1st movement: Adagio cantabile (Zoie Tse)
- Piano Sonata No. 25 in G, Op. 79, 1st movement: Presto alla tedesca (Anson Wong)
- Piano Sonata No. 26 in E flat, Op. 81a, ‘Les Adieux’, 1st movement: Das Lebewohl (Colleen Lee)


Zoie Tse obtained her Bachelor's degree in Music from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she received the Dean's Scholarship. She is currently studying at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, under the guidance of Boris Slutsky. She has achieved second place in the Los Angeles International Liszt Piano Competition, first place in the Lima Symphony Young Artist Competition, and second place in the New York International Piano Competition.

Anson Wong has won multiple prizes in the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals, Silver prize of the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition in Tokyo, the Gold Prize Award and two additional special jury prizes in the Ishikawa International Piano Competition in Kanazawa. He has collaborated as a soloist with the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Colleen Lee won the 6th prize at the 15th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. She has collaborated with orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Galicia Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also a member of the RTHK Chamber Soloists, established in 2018.
