Zhang Chongxue, the guest concertmaster of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, developed a love for erhu performance during her childhood, influenced by her father and grandfather. Since then, the huqin has become a part of her life. To become the concertmaster of an orchestra, one must possess exceptional skills and pass numerous tests and challenges to lead the orchestra. Facing a lot of pressure, she chooses to travel and watch movies for relaxation, which also helps her handle both classical and pop music with ease.
Zhang Chongxue, a member of the Chinese Musicians’ Association, graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2006 and joined the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra the same year.
