Dubbed the "Goddess of Erhu," Chan Pik-sum dazzles on stage. Offstage, she's also a culinary whiz, known to whip up a variety of delicious dishes, making her a favourite among friends and family. A fervent lover of Chinese music, especially the nanyin , she often collaborates with her partner, Johnny Yim , merging Eastern and Western sounds to explore new musical horizons.

Chan Pik-sum is a huqin virtuoso. Active in both Chinese and Western music scenes, she has collaborated with several ensembles, including the Fulcrum Point New Music Project of Chicago , Chung Chi Wind Orchestra of the Chinese University of Hong Kong , the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra , and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong , often being invited as a solo performance guest. She frequently ventures into interdisciplinary performances, collaborating with dancers, chinese opera artists, and multimedia artists.
