Teriver Cheung is an extraordinary jazz guitarist. Just when his career was taking off, he was suddenly diagnosed with stage four cancer, forcing his life to come to an abrupt halt. After undergoing a series of treatments and multiple brushes with death, he never gave up. Was it music, good doctors, or friends that kept him going?
In this episode, Teriver Cheung invites Ted Lo, known as the godfather of jazz in Hong Kong, and his close collaborator and friend, Sotoc, to share his journey fighting cancer and to present jazz works of different styles to the audience.

Teriver Cheung, a local jazz guitarist and composer, earned his degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas in 2004. In 2007, he formed his first band, Nobody’s Business. In 2015, Teriver collaborated with Lam Fung to create a concert “Hong Kong Episodes ” for the Hong Kong World Cultures Festival , and representing Hong Kong on a world tour.
