The Golden State Warriors fell to the San Antonio Spurs 129-100 in a rather surprising blowout loss on their home court. The Spurs were one of the best teams last season, and if not for the Warriors record breaking 73 win season, more attention would have been put on the Spurs historic run. Neither team won the NBA Finals though. Kawhi Leonard and Jonathan Simmons stole the show from Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, while the Warriors were unable to cut into the Spurs double-digit lead.
Two other games tipped off: Knicks vs. Cavs and Jazz vs. Trail Blazers. The big takeaways aside from Cleveland raising their championship banner was the triple-double he dropped on the Knicks and Damian Lillard’s rip roaring 39 points at home against Utah.
