Jangeo Gui (Grilled Eel)

■ Ingredients
2 large fresh water eels (or 4 small)
3 knobs ginger
1/2 onion
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 lemon
1 cup alfalfa sprouts and baby greens

Sauce
1 1/2 cups of eel broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup rice wine
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp maesil (green plum juice) or honey
1 tbsp red chili flakes/powder
1 tbsp starch syrup
3 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
1/2 tbsp ginger, grated
1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped

An all-time favorite chicken recipe in Korea is "Dakgalbi" which is stir-fried chicken marinated in gochujang (Korean red chili paste). Seri learned her recipe from a "dakgalbi" expert. So be sure to check this out.


■ Ingredients
600-800g chicken
100g sweet potato
5 brussels sprouts
1 sprig green onion
10 perilla leaves
150g spaghetti
2 tbsp cooking oil or olive oil
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp sesame seeds

Sauce
80-100g red chili flakes/powder
90ml soy sauce
90ml white wine or beer
120g sugar
60g starch syrup
100g onion, chopped
50g garlic, finely chopped
15g salt


Chicken seasoning
1 tsp salt or coarse salt (as needed)
1 tsp ginger, chopped
1 tsp rosemary
1 tbsp soju (rice wine)
2 tbsp spicy sauce
