현재 초등 5학년부터는 역사 과목이 정규 교과목으로 편성돼 '6.25 한국전쟁'을 포함한 근,현대사를 접하고 배우게 함으로써 올바른 역사인식 형성에 도움을 주는 것으로 평가받고 있다, 그러나 교과서를 통해 접하는 역사 과목의 경우 평면적 문자 중심의 기록콘텐츠를 활용하는 것이 보다 효과적일 수 밖에 없다. 그래서 본 수업보조 동영상 자료는 멀티미디어적 기록콘텐츠의 기본형태를 바탕으로 초등학생의 눈높이에 맞춰 역사적 흥미와 집중도를 높이고자 한다.
