This week we're spending the whole show at Hong Kong's biggest annual popular music festival, and one which has not only brought major international performers to Hong Kong but also gives Hong Kong artists a venue for meeting a broader audience. The festival is Clockenflap, which was founded in 2008 Jay Forster, Justin Sweeting and Mike Hill. They say they wanted the festival to nurture the Hong Kong arts, music and film scene and put the city on Asia's contemporary media-arts circuit. The sixth Clockenflap festival was held in December of last year, and brought together long running and well established bands like Chic And Franz Ferdinand, up and coming indie bands like The 1975, local performers such as Ellen Loo and GEM, world music from of Fatoumata Diawara and Omar Souleyman, cabaret, and many other artists and musicians. The Works was there for the whole three day festtval.
